1827 Sq. Base 2 -  O.148 R.6 PCGS Gd. 4

Yes, a 2nd example.  This one did what it was supposed to do: circulate.  It last appeared in MB 35, April 2012, where I described lot 67 as follows: A new addition to the scant population of perhaps 15 known examples.  Our sharp-eyed consignor found the coin unattributed on eBay.  … The dies were slightly misaligned, but I find no evidence of a previous strike.  The low grade, of course, may account for our inability to see anything “odd” about the coin.  The surfaces are smooth, with natural grey toning.  Having served a full tour in circulation this rarity now brings hope to collectors who assumed they could never afford to add an R.6 to their collections.   The coin sold to an advanced collector for $4,400.  Est. $3,800 to $4,800.
