1829 - O.109a R.4+ PCGS AU 58 CAC
As bright and lustrous as the day it departed the coining chamber. Minimal signs of handling with a whisper of rub on the cheek. Probably deserves a + designation. Minor striking weakness in the central devices but better than most of the issue. Easily a “top-10” coin, perhaps in the top-5. This is the coin’s first appearance at auction. Dave Kahn discovered it and sold it to Scorzafava in a private transaction. Estimate: $1,800 to $2,500
