1808 - O.102a R.2 PCGS AU 53 CAC
Ex Donald Frederick, noted on the PCGS label. Silver-grey centers with attractive gold toning on either side. Superior luster for the assigned grade. Minor contact marks are confined to the reverse, below the motto. Heritage sold Frederick’s capped bust halves in its April 2010 Central States auction. This was lot 2880. Frederick was a keen student of bust halves, well respected by his peers, and a long time member of the Bust Half Nut Club. He owned numerous rare and high grade pieces, including a choice AU 1796 and the finest known 1812/1 Large 8. The current offering was Frederick’s set piece, acquired in the distant past. Est. $1,150 to $1,500.
