The coveted early die state, with boisterous luster. Note the bold “dots,” below-left and top-right of the first 1 in the date. The central devices are fully struck, another magnet for savvy collectors. Pale russet toning frames the dazzling centers. I found no record of the date or place of Dick’s purchase. When or wherever it was – well done! Estimate: $5,000 and up.
