1821 - O.103 R.1 PCGS AU 58 CAC

It took $2,753 for Scorzafava to take home this dazzling 1821 when offered in August 2015, MB 41, lot 39. Enticing pastel orange and gold toning blankets each side, a bit lighter on the reverse. Bold luster befits a mint state coin. I note a whisper of friction on the cheek. The razor-sharp strike and smooth surfaces heighten the coin’s eye-appeal and will please the most fastidious collectors. Estimate: $2,500 to $3,000
